Obituary of Shirley Ann Gibbs

    Graveside services for Shirley Ann Gibbs, 80, of Kilgore, will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home.

     Mrs. Gibbs passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 in Kilgore. She was born February 14, 1937 in Overton to the late Clyde and Fannie Bell Pharis Cook. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club in Henderson and loved karaoke, singing, dancing, and going to the boats. She thoroughly enjoyed people and most of all Shirley loved being with her family and traveling.

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Harold Garrett in 1999 and her second husband, Jimmie A. Gibbs Sr. in 2003, also her brothers and sisters, Overend Cook, Norman Cook, Elsie Moffet and Mary Jo Bewley.

     Survivors include her children and their spouses, Randy and Sonya Garrett of New London, Mark and Christi Garrett of Overton, and Donna and Benton Custer of Kilgore; three stepchildren and their families, a brother, Danny Cook of New London; a sister, Berta Smires of New London; six grandchildren, Brandi Heimer, Zane Garrett, Adam Garrett, Dalton Willett, Alyssa Legan and Haylee Garrett; and two great grandchildren, Ava Heimer and Caroline Heimer.
