Obituary of Dorothy M. Evans
Services for Dorothy M. Evans, 85, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, August 1, at
Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, Tyler with the Reverends Mark Hatcher and David Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Evans went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in Troup. She was born August 3, 1923 in Indiana to the late Harrison and Grace Richards Howie. She moved to Whitehouse in 2001 from Peoria, Arizona.
She was a homemaker and attended Lakeview Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Elmer DeWard Evans, a brother, Bill Howie and two sisters, Arlene Eades and Pauline Eades.
She was loved and respected by her family and friends. Her personal relationship with God was evident. Prayer was an important aspect of her life. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marci and Ray Hamilton, Troup; five brothers, Art Howie, Danville, Illinois, Harold Howie, Tilton, Illinois, Dale Howie, Denver, Colorado, Richard Howie, Tellico Plains, Tennessee and Don Howie, Ashmore, Illinois; three granddaughters and their husbands, Tammy and Clay Cannon, Kimberly and Sammy Knighton and Amy and Mark Hatcher; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be Ray Hamilton, Clay Cannon, Sammy Knighton, Wayne Martin, Steve Hukill, and Charles Hamilton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan VanCleave and Art Evans. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, Friday, July 31.
