Obituary of Glen Ray Clinton
Funeral services for Glen Ray Clinton, 71, of Tyler, formerly of Overton and Leverett's Chapel will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with Reverend Edwin Findley officiating. Burial will be in Overton City Cemetery.
Mr. Clinton passed away, Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 14, 1947 in Overton to the late George W. and O’Deara McCarty Clinton and was a life long resident of the East Texas area. He served in the US Army and served in the Vietnam war, where he received two purple hearts. He worked in the Oilfield as a truck driver and was a Christian.
Besides his parents, Mr. Clinton was also preceded in death by a son, Darryel Clinton, a grandson, Justin Wayne Clinton, a special niece, Tina Smelley, three brothers, Billy Clinton, Carl Clinton, and Charlie Clinton, and a sister, Emma Pace.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin and Serenia Clinton, and Steve Clinton of Omaha; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Wayne Pace of Henderson, and Linda and Bob Pounders of Leverett’s Chapel; three grandchildren, Jessica Clinton, Lillie Stanley and Johnny Clinton; two great grandchildren, Daniel and David Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steven Stanley, Bubba Smelley, James Smelley, Bob Pounders, Wayne Pace and Ricky Pace.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, 7, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
