Obituary of William James Searcy

Memorial services for William “Willie” Searcy, 71, of Henderson will be 3 pm, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

William passed away October 3, 2018. He was born January 10, 1947 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late William Rex Searcy and Edith Estella Bird. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School in 1965 and was a High School All-American football player.  He retired from Delta Airlines and he was a Field Medic in Vietnam and he was awarded a purple heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kathy Searcy.

Survivors include his brother, Larry Searcy and wife Anna of Henderson; sisters, Jan Bramlett and husband Rex of Karnack, Sandy Mager and husband Tim of Concord, Betty Newton of Bullard, Judy Combs and husband Dewayne of Troup; step-children; Misti Bauman and husband Keith of Hurst, David Blasingame and wife Michelle of Rockwall and Paul Blasingame and wife Jennifer of Caddo Mills; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Bauman, Mathew Bauman, Alexis Blasingame, Amber Weitner and husband Andrew, Alexis Black and Cameron Black;  2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4 pm to 6 pm, Sunday, October 7, at the funeral home, Troup.
