I loved Darlene. Her mom and my mom were in Sunshine Nursing Home at the same time and she was just about the sweetest, most loving person I can name. I am so glad that she is reunited with her wonderful parents. Preacher Gaut worked at London High School the whole time I was there as a student. My mother dropped my brother and me off at the school before the doors were opened, and he always opened them early on cold days to let us in. Such a sweet, sweet family.

My heart is heavy with grief as I say goodbye to my buddy Darlene, known as my friend since kindergarten at London Elementary and, later in our lives, my sister-in-law.
She was a cheerful, loving, generous schoolgirl as she was so as an adult. In our graduation class, she was often the willing clown because she was so naive. Everyone loved her!
She was a great mother, a patient and loving wife to my brother John David, and a wonderful aunt to all the kids our family "blessed" her with! She was a good friend to all, a soft spoken angel. She is already missed...

So very sorry to hear about Darlene. She was a dear friend and neighbor to me for over 20 years and even knew me as I was growing up in school. It saddens my heart but boy oh boy can you imagine being in Heaven right now as she enters those gates with the personality she has! I bet it was the best homecoming ever! I missed her when she moved away and will always miss her!! Hugs to the family of this extrodinary person!!
