I only got to know Mr. Dowdy a few years ago. Sure enjoyed being around him and his family. He was a person that became a friend as soon as you met him. My wife and I are saddened to hear of his passing and send our condolences to all of his family. He will be missed.

I served with Billy at Ft Polk during the Berlin Crisis of 1961-62 and we sometimes travelled together when travelling home on some weekends. I was sorry to read of his passing and extend my deepest sympathy to his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful, full of love, life and laughter person. He was a great hugger. He never met a stranger and he loved the Lord. He's in heaven celebrating with the Lord and those who have gone before us. Plus he is no longer in pain. Delight, Scott, Pattie, Lisa, Amber and Hayley are all in our thoughts and prayers. I loved him and will miss him dearly.
Love you,
Ginger, Joe, Jason, Sabrina and the kids

Billy Dowdy was a very good friend of mine. We served together in the 49th Armored Division, Company C, 3rd ARB, 144th Inf., Texas National Guard and the U.S. Army in the early 1960’s. Billy was an outstanding individual and he will be missed.
