Obituary of James D. Foreman
Graveside services for James Dalton Foreman, 79, of Tyler, will be held 10:30am Monday, October 9, 2017 at Bullard City Cemetery. Chaplain Ken Somerville will be officiating under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
James Foreman passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Tyler. He was born January 26, 1938 in Flint to Benjamin Tillman Foreman and Dora Thelma Baker Foreman. James was a fireman for the Tyler Fire Department and retired as the Chief Arson Investigator. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a firefighter. James also worked as a barber in Tyler, Whitehouse, Troup, and Bullard over the years. He enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, singing, and fishing. He loved his girls and family dearly.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Ann Foreman and daughter, Sherry Diane Caperton.
Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Smith & husband Kenneth “Greg” of Tyler; five grandchildren, Shiann Smith, Justin Rinlee, Jordan Rinlee Smoker & husband Brad and great grandchild Grantley Smoker, Holton Hasty, Hayden Caperton, and Megan Caperton; special family friend, Pam Clark (like a daughter).
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 3-5pm.
