Dear Aunt Novie ,
We will always remember you fondly. The first thing Frank Cole said when he learned of your passing was "I know she went straight to Heaven" because she was always a very good person and touched so many lives in a positive way. She helped so many people. You will be greatly missed.
Love, Frank Cole and Patti Ross

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Roddy. I too was blessed to have her for my first grade teacher. There was no other like her. Although she was petite in physical stature, the legacy she left is enormous. She changed the world one child at a time. Her kind and gentle spirit was an example for all of us. Thanks be to God for the blessing of Mrs. Roddy in our lives.

I always think of Mrs. Roddy in the fall.
I had Mrs. Roddy as my first grade teacher. I loved her.
I wanted to give her something, so I picked some flowers that were in my neighbor's yard and took them to her.
Mrs. Roddy made a fuss over them and put them in water. Then she told me that those red spider lilies were her favorite.
I have my own yard now and I have some red spider lilies in it. And every fall, when they bloom, I think of Mrs. Roddy.

Mrs. Roddy was such a precious lady. She was one of the most influential people in my life. From the first day of first grade I knew that I wanted to be a teacher just like her! I have now been a teacher for 30 years, 20 of those teaching first grade. She became a close family friend and remained influential throughout my life, even giving me a wedding shower. My deepest condolences to the family--there is no other like her.

Mrs Roddy was my first grade teacher many years ago and helped fuel my interest in learning and education. I had the pleasure of having her and her sister Mrs. Cole to build my foundation. She was a great part of what made me become a teacher and now an Elementary Principal. She was also one of the sweetest people I ever knew. My Condolences to her family

I have thought about Mrs. Roddy many many times over the years. She taught me to read and was a teacher that believed in me. I have never forgotten and never will forget the inspiration to keep trying, that she gave me. She was the first of only a few that pushed me to keep working hard towards my dreams. I loved Mrs. Roddy! Heaven got an angel with her passing.
