Obituary of Ruby Elizabeth Hamilton

Ruby Elizabeth Hamilton, 74, of Troup, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 19, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Born in Jacksonville, Texas on April 18, 1941, Ruby was the second child of Lee and Essie Bolton. On August 30, 1957, Ruby married Billy Joe Hamilton, and they recently celebrated their 58th anniversary. Ruby’s pride and joy were her three children, Ricky, Tammy, and Pamela. She was a member of Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church and loved her church family. She was known for her nurturing, loving heart, and her siblings looked to her as a second mother, and even referred to her as “Mother Hen.”. Even her career as a nurse proved how caring she was. Her Sunday meals were a special part of family time. Her oldest grandson, Brandon, will always remember her for her love of video games, and grandson, Brady, said he will miss sharing butter and crackers together. One of her great-grandchildren, Case, said he loved Gaga because she always let him be the boss. Ruby was preceded in death by son, Ricky Joe Hamilton, parents, Lee and Essie Bolton, and Mother in-law and Father in-law John and Estelle Hamilton. Ruby was a precious gem to so many. She is survived by her loving husband Billy Joe Hamilton, daughter Tammy and husband Bubba Howell of Troup, daughter Pamela Phillips of Tyler, brothers Eldred Bolton of New Summerfield, Kenneth Bolton and wife Carolyn of Tyler, and Raymond Bolton of Tyler, sisters Carol Linkinhoker and husband David of Kilgore, Delores Jeske and husband Nolan of Troup, Shirley Pixley and husband Joe of Linden, Rosemary Tomlin and husband Roy of Flint, Bonnie Berg of Longview, and Ellen Tomlin of Troup. Grandchildren Jamie Duvak and husband Brent of Bullard, Crystal Hamilton of Hugo, Melissa Hamilton of Addison, Brandon Howell and wife Leslie of Troup, and Brady and Carter Phillips of Tyler. Great-grandchildren Cade, Chloe and Cruz Duvak, and Casen and Bowen Howell, as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Michael Bolton, Brian Tomlin, Brent Duvak, Bubba Tomlin, Tony Linkinhoker, and Scott McMillan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening.
