Obituary of Ellen Vonceil List

Funeral services for Ellen Vonceil List, 91, Troup, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Troup with Reverends Tommy Earl Burton and Mike Cline officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. List died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Tyler. She was born February 9, 1923, in Novelty, Missouri, to the late Lemuel Simpson and Harriet “Hattie” Ellen Waite Simpson Maize. Vonceil married the late Dr. Carl F. List on November 8, 1945. They were married for 55 years. They moved to Troup in 1945. She had been a member of Troup First United Methodist Church since 1949 where she had been a Sunday School superintendent, M.Y.F. sponsor, and a member of the Lydia Circle. She had belonged and served as an officer to the Troup Garden Club and P.T.A. She had enjoyed the Troup ladies bridge club and couples dinner bridge club. She is survived by her daughter, Karla Lynne List of Troup; granddaughter, Ellen Lillian and her husband Zachary Isaacks; three nieces and a nephew, several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Scott Slaughter, Drew Carlyle, Tony Harris, Zachary Isaacks, Rex Worl, Mark Slaughter, and Joe Carlyle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Carlyle, Billy Slaughter, Dr. Khoren Hekimian, Joe Paul McElroy, David Sadler, and David Wilson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, November 21, 2014.
