Lynn and Ellen,
I am so sorry for your loss. I pray God's blessings on you both as you face the days ahead. Mrs. List was a very sweet lady. I enjoyed getting to know her better when Ellen was in my second grade class. Bless you both.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. List. I image she was an amazing woman. I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is Isaiah 26:19, which says, "Your dead will live... Awake and shout joyfully, you residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, and the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you, and I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved mother. Sincerely, Meryl

Love the picture you chose of Vonceil. Just like I remember her the last time I saw her. She was always smiling it seems and made you feel good. We all shared such special times in Troup. They live and will live in my heart forever. Thinking of you Lynn and wishing you courage, rest, and most of all peace.
Love to you and yours,
Cornelia "conelia"

Dear Lynne: I, too, am so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. She had an amazing impression on so many of our lives, as did your special Dad. they were both such wonderful cheerleaders for our community. Even more, they were "extended family" to so many of us when we were teenagers. what a gift that was! As a child I had a very serious injury one evening when my brother and I were playing in our home. Taken to Dr. List right away. I was calmed by the manner of the Doc but kindly assured by my dear Mom on one side and dear Vonceil on the other as the Doc helped lessen the pain and stitched the gaping cut. I loved your parents so much, as I suspect all who knew them. know that our prayers are with you and your family in the loss of such a dear, dear person. Love to you, Carol Smith

Vonciel was a sweet, sweet lady. She brought vegetable soup to my Mom when she was sick many years ago. It was so good that Kay asked for the recipe, and it was forever known thereafter as Vonciel soup. The recipe has been passed along to three generations of family and many, many friends, along with the story. Vonciel Soup will always be one of our favorite comfort foods. Her kindness lives on.
