Our family was very fortunate to have crossed paths with Bro. Joe and Miss Diane. They both welcomed our family into the church family of First Baptist of Troup with open arms...Not only did Jason and I enjoy his adult Sunday School, but when Bro. Joe switched to teach a teen class, our son Kyle was blessed to have Bro. Joe as his Sunday School teacher as well. Much love and prayer is being sent to the Layne and Hammond family from the Coble/Johnsons

What a great man Joe is. He was so good to my mother and dad and I am so grateful to him for being there for them. He was very special to all of us and we are sad that he will not be around, but we will see him again. Maybe he and Dad are having a great reunion and having great laughs together.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have many fond memories of Joe particularly the pranks he liked to pull, and birthday lunch with the girls. My most treasured memory was coming down the stairs after my Mom's funeral, and There Joe stood waiting to give me a big hug. There was no reason for him to be in Blair Nebraska except he went there for me. I will never ever forget that. I'm hoping that he and my mom meet, but hopefully won't share too many stories:) Rest in peace you sweet gentle man.
