Obituary of Louise Lavender

Services for Louise Banks Lavender, 99, Troup, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 21, at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, with the Reverend Tommy Harden officiating. Mrs. Lavender died Saturday, February 17, in a Tyler hospital. She was born August 7, 1907, in Daingerfield to the late Robert Burl and Irene McFarland Banks. She was a longtime resident of Dallas before moving to the Arp area in 1995. Mrs. Lavender was a traveling representative for the Roux Company and later worked for Nieman-Marcus. While living in Dallas, she was a member of the East Dallas Christian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Porcelain Art Guild, the Kathryn Hail Travis Art Club, and the T.C.U. Women's Club. Currently, she was a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cameron Dorroh; her second husband, E. King Lavender; and her daughter, Corinne Dorroh Wilson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, C.D. and Pat Dorroh, Troup; her granddaughter, Cindy Jehlen, Longview; and three great-grandsons, Dustin Jehlen, Denton and Chris and Eric Jehlen, both of Longview. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Frank Lanham, James Lanham, Muncie Williams, Jimmy Lanham, Kenneth Cuvelier, and Dr. David Beaird. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, February 19.
