She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup. Reba was a loving wife and Mother. There are many things that can be said of Nanny. She was a woman of strong character, great wisdom, and many skills and great compassion. The picture that Proverbs 31 paints for us represents Nanny. "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed: her husband also and he praises her. Many women do noble things but you surpass them all." She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Pat Thompson, Mickey Don and Martha Thompson, Rex Allen and Karen Thompson, and Ronnie Dean and Jan Thompson, all of Troup; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Jean and Mike Johnson, Troup; a sister and brother-in-law, Arthena and Jack Lovett, Orange; ten grandchildren, Johnny Johnson, Donna Dowdy, Tammy Thompson, Pamela Choea, Kim Collins, Johnnie Thompson, Kit Thompson, Mattie Thompson, Adam Thompson, and Breckett Thompson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Chad Thibodeaux, Shannon Hargrave, Danielle Holland, Jake Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Alex Collins, Liz Collins, Kymberlee Thompson, Jonna Dowdy, Jennifer Dowdy, Jason Dowdy, Ricky Thompson, Jr., Christian Thompson, Echo Thompson, and Zakkery Thompson; a great-great-granddaughter, Avery Thibodeaux; and several nieces and nephews.
