Obituary of Peggy Buckelew Jennings

Funeral services for Peggy Buckelew Jennings, 61, Overton, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, February 1, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverends Ronnie Glover and Gaylon Burris officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery. Mrs. Jennings died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. She was born September 20, 1945 in Tyler to the late Reverend Richard I. and Dorothy Faye Steel Buckelew. She moved to Overton in 1961 from Tyler and graduated from Overton High School. She attended Kilgore College and BBC in Springfield, Missouri. She worked for Overton Health Care and Sunshine Nursing Home, New London. Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Bible Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the church choir. She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Richard I. Buckelew, November 15, 2001; by her mother, Dorothy Faye Steel Buckelew, August 15, 2006, and by a brother, Richard Blake Buckelew. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Starla and John Parsons, Kilgore; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shera and Rondell Duncan, Overton, and Saundra and Earl Pryor, Maydelle; a granddaughter, Johni Star Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin Pryor, Johnthan Duncan, Kevin Pryor, Jr., W.A. Steel, Jimmy Lusk, and Wes Myhand. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Cagle, J.B. Steel, E.G. Reed, Clyde Cannon, Virgil Cannon, and Bobby Steel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, January 31.
