Obituary of Alie Katherine Armstrong
Funeral services for Alie Katherine "Ma" Armstrong, 89, Arp, will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 20, at the Arp Assembly of God with Reverend Artie Jones and Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in the Waldrop Cemetery, Panola County under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Alie Katherine Kelley Armstrong "Ma" born August 29, 1917 to the late Reverend Henry D. Kelley and Alie Kelley in Panola County and went home to be with her precious Savior on January 17, 2007 surrounded by her loving family.
Ma was married October 24, 1936 to the late Joe Arthur Armstrong. She was employed at various garment factories throughout the years and retired from Care-A-Lot Playschool after 20 years of touching the lives of many children.
She was a chartered member of the Arp Assembly of God Church.
Ma enjoyed working word puzzles, listening to gospel music and reading her Bible. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loving friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Don Alvin Stidham and son-in-law, Felix Stidham. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Marshall Pitner, Longview, Jean Stidham, Orange, LaVone and Andrew Baker, Arp, and Diane and Jack Lacy, Arp. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Janie Howard, Theresa Hays, Randy Pitner, Joe Stidham, Greg Baker, Kathy Bennett, Anthony Baker, Lana Brady, and Lara Parker.
Ma also had twelve great grandchildren, Niki, Kimberly, Amanda, Adam, Colton, Jerid, Kelley, Drew, Jack, Alie Kate, Landry, Abby Lynn; and four great great grandchildren, Kamrynn, Kenndie, Destiny, and Nick, whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joe Stidham, Randy Pitner, Greg Baker, Anthony Baker, and great grandsons, Drew Bennett, Adam McDermott, Colton Pitner, and Jerid Stidham. Honorary pallbearers will be great great grandsons, Jack Brady and Landry Brady.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arp Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 517, Arp, Texas 75750.
