Obituary of Mary Louise Hairston
Graveside Services for Mary Louise Wilson Hairston, 95, Athens, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 13, at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens with the Reverend Doctor Kyle Henderson officiating, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Hairston died Sunday, December 10, in a Troup nursing home. She was born March 30, 1911, in Troup to the late Sid and Myrtie Smith Wilson.
She graduate from High School in Tyler and married Leo Hairston in 1935. They moved to Athens, where they owned and operated Hairston Book Store from 1938 until 1972. Following their retirement, Louise and Leo enjoyed traveling around the world. Louise was a gracious hostess, talented business woman, and supporter of her community and church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Athens.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Hairston and a sister, Marie Burns.
She is survived by her niece, Dianne Jones, Houston.
