Obituary of Nina Garsee
Services for Nina Garsee, 85, Overton, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 12, at the First Baptist Church, Overton with the Reverend Charles Paschall officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near New London, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mrs. Garsee died Saturday, December 9, in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born November 5, 1921, in Russleville, Arkansas to the late Oscar James Gray and Bertie Lou Turner Gray. She had been a resident of Overton since 1959.
Mrs. Garsee was a housewife and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Overton. She enjoyed doing for others.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, O.J. Gray and Doyle Gray.
Mrs. Garsee married Martin Garsee in Quinton, Oklahoma, August 6, 1942.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Martin Garsee, Overton; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Garsee, Overton; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Jack Hoover, Overton; a brother, Winston Gene Gray, Wynnewood, Oklahoma; a sister, Ruth Hicks, Overton; two grandchildren, John Hoover and Jennifer Worley; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Williams, Wayne Lacy, and Bill Steer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, Monday, December 11.
