Obituary of O.B. Mullican

Services for O.B. Mullican, 82, Troup, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 9, in the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, Troup with Reverend Doctor Paul Saylors and Jim Heath officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery, Troup. Mr. Mullican died Monday, December 6, 2010, in Tyler. He was born June 6, 1928, in Troup to the late John Alphus and Mary Frances Mitchum Mullican. He had been a lifetime resident of Troup. O.B. married Kathy Faye Kersh on June 7, 1968, in Troup. He had worked as a welder for 30 years with Southern Pacific Railroad.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup. He was preceded in death by his six brothers, John Mullican, Jim Mullican, Joseph Elmer 'Snooks' Mullican, Homer Mullican, Virgil Mullican, and Loys Mullican and a sister, Bessie Ward. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kathy Mullican, Troup; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Mullican and Mike and Karena Mullican, all of Troup; two granddaughters, Christen and Angela; and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kersh, Chris Hamilton, Keith Mullican, Jimmy Magness, Bradley Thomas, and Robert Burton. Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends at the Dairy Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 8, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
