Obituary of Bonnie Hinkle

Services for Bonnie Hinkle, 70, Troup are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, November 29, at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup with the Reverend Mike Cline officiating.  Ms. Hinkle died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, in a Tyler hospital. She was born June 11, 1940, in Troup to the late Jim W. and Wanda Martin Bowman.  She received her Bachelor's degree from Radford University, Radford, Virginia and her Master's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. Ms. Hinkle moved back to Troup in 1986 and taught business at Tyler Junior College and job skills at the RTDC, Tyler. She served as the Librarian for the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library for several years until her retirement in 2008. Following her retirement, she worked as a volunteer for the library. She was a former member of the Troup City Council and had served as the secretary for the Troup Community Development Corporation since its inception. She was an Episcopalian. Ms. Hinkle loved Troup. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Celia Hinkle, Roanoke, Virginia, Whit and Lisa Bowman, Whitehouse and Paul and Alean Hinkle, Troup; daughter and companion, Diane Hinkle and Josh Edwards, San Antonio; and three grandchildren, Calyn Wilkie, Brianna Wilkie and Audree Hinkle; and other relatives and many, many friends. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm, Sunday, November 28. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cameron-J.Jarvis Troup Municipal Library, P.O. Box 721, Troup, TX 75789.
