Obituary of Javenda Lea Switzer
Services for Javenda 'Vee' Lea Rankin Switzer, 63, Troup, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, November 27, at the First Baptist Church, Troup with the Reverends Erik Switzer and Mike Jeter officiating. Burial will in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Switzer went home to be with her Lord Friday, November 24, in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born February 20, 1943, in Troup, to the late John and Verna Mae Torbet Rankin.
She owned and operated Switzer Insurance Agency in Troup for 15 years. She also worked for the Dehaven Eye Clinic, Tyler and was also a volunteer at the Troup Police Department.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd P. 'Switch' Switzer and two sisters, Pat Rankin Tennison and Violet Mae Rankin.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Erik and Melinda Switzer, Arp, Craig Switzer, and Robbie and Connie Switzer; a sister, Faye Lee, Troup; five grandchildren, Justin Switzer, Jeremy Switzer, Dustin Switzer, Holly Switzer, and Max Switzer; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tommy Stephens, Bob Overman, Don South, Bill Castleberry, Jeff Peck, and Johnny Ashby.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm, Sunday, November 26.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas.
