Obituary of Judith Hamilton

Services for Judith 'Judy' Savoie Hamilton, 70, New London, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 30, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens, Henderson. Mrs. Hamilton died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at her residence after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 16,1940, in Port Arthur, but lived most of her life in East Texas. She and her husband owned Hamilton's Western Wear in Overton for many years. Before her death, she was employed by the Troup Senior Apartments. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Savoie; father, Clyde E. Savoie, Sr., sister, Bonnie Savoie, and daughter, Julene Spiller. Survivors include her husband, George Hamilton, New London; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Tina Hamilton, Tyler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Rita Savoie, Port Arthur and Clyde and Billie Savoie, Groves; grandchildren, Candice Hamilton, Laci Hays, Christopher and Michael Andrepont; and a great-grandchild, Drake Andrepont. Pallbearers will be Billy Vernon, Walter Peacock, Jimmy Youngblood, Dale Johnson, Beaver Cole and Stephen Hamilton. Special thanks to Kim Wallace, personal nurse and care giver and to Joyce Nayfa, RN, Teresa Pannell, RN, Jay Quebedeaux and Serena Clinton of Angel Care Hospice for the wonderful care that they gave Judy at home and for making her comfortable in her final days. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, October 29.
