Obituary of Billy Hammond
Funeral services for Billy Joe Hammond, 77, Kilgore, will be Sunday, September 19, at 2:00 pm, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Private Burial will be in Danville Cemetery, Kilgore.
Mrs. Hammond died Thursday, September 16, 2010 in a hospice facility in Tyler. She was born September 17, 1932 in Eric, Oklahoma to the late William Joe and Cassie Lee Rogers Coy. She lived most all her life in the Kilgore and she was a hairdresser and a homemaker. She is a former member of the Gregg County Humane Society and enjoyed her many pets. She was a member of the Gregg County REACT Club, monitoring CB radios and her hobbies included photography, genealogy, gardening, bird watching and she was a history buff.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Maurene Stewart and by three husbands, Leroy Sayer, Earl Newsom 'Mutt' Hammond and James Billy Hammond.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Hammond, New London and Debbie Leblanc, Houston; a son and daughter-in-law, Jo-El and Jana Hammond, Kilgore; two sisters, Betty Gibson, Reklaw and Carol Jordan, Henderson; two grandchildren, Jace Juneau and Arien Juneau; two great grandchildren, Brianna Juneau and Joseph Juneau; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday, September 18.
