Obituary of Keith Barr

Memorial services for Keith M. Barr, 82, Arp, will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 29, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Tyler with Reverend Doctor Mark Braaten and Reverend Art Miller officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.  Mr. Barr died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in a Tyler hospital. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late James Lorne and Hazel Jean Dundas Barr. He is a veteran of the US Marines and married Mabel Catherine Johnson June 27, 1948 in Grafton, North Dakota He moved to Arp August 1, 1965 from Minnesota and owned and managed various businesses. He retired as a manufacturer of road marking equipment and was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Tyler. Mr. Barr was very cherished by all his family and friends and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Catherine Barr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel Barr of Arp; a son and his fiancee, Lorne Barr and Rhonda Castillo, both of Plainview; four daughters and their spouses, Linne and Charlie Gipson of Liberty City, Mary Barr of Tyler, Terri and Jimmy Fields of Troup and Kari and Mark Steph of Tyler; a brother, John Barr of Arlington; six grandchildren, Mark Gipson, Jennifer Williamson, Jeff Blackmon, Traci Fields, Stephanie Barr, and Sara Barr; four great grandchildren, Kyle Williamson, Emily Williamson, Dakota Gipson and Brady Gipson; and his loyal dog Zoey.
