Obituary of Jerry Ferrill

Jerry Franklin Ferrill went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2010. He was born near Groesbeck, TX, Limestone county January 12, 1936 and grew up in the Box Church community. He graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1953 and then attended Navarro Junior College. From 1955 through 1960 he served in the Air Force at Wheelers Air Base, Tripoli, North Africa. Jerry is survived by his wife Jane Ferrill whom he married April 6 1962 in Troup, TX. Other survivors include his 3 daughters, Kathryn Knight of Nacogdoches, TX, Laura Dacus of Arp, TX, and Allison Wells and husband Mitch of Arp, TX, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, J. O. "Bill" Ferrill of Katy, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. After retiring from Shell Oil Company in 1994, he worked for independent contractors in the Gulf of Mexico until 2002. He was an electrical engineer and word in the Gulf was "Mr. Jerry can fix anything." At Mr. Ferrill's request, his body will be cremated and laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
