Obituary of Kathleen ‘Kitty’ Harless

Graveside services for Kathleen 'Kitty' Harless, 83, Troup, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, August 5, at the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup with Revered Steve Oakes officiating, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Harless died Saturday, July 31, in a Henderson nursing home. She was born December 19, 1926, in Lindale to the late Hiram and Eppie Oglesby Wright. She grew up in Lindale, Tyler and Troup and was a graduate of John Tyler High School.  She owned and operated Kitty Corner Grocery in Troup for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack G. Harless, September 30, 2001, and by brothers, Jodene Wright, Vernon Dale Wright, Lee Arvin Wright, Dude Wright and Bill Wright; and sisters, Verine Woodard, Fannie Lee Butler, Beulah Sitton, Naoma Clifton, and Ruby Teague. Survivors include a daughter, Roma Kay Harless, Kilgore; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Jack and Cindy Hinds, Augusta, Georgia; brother, Alton Wright, Kuntz; sisters, Earline Johnson, and Dessie Dee Parker, both of Tyler, Buna Patterson and Estelle Fleming both of Baytown; grandchildren, Brandi Byrd, Melissa George, Leslie Davis, Dusti Solomon, Kevin Hinds, Kyle Hinds, Kristal Singletary, Kent Hinds, and Kalon Hinds; 25 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, B.J. Vickers and Sharon Hayden; and grandsons-in-law, Jessie Byrd, Rocky George, Kevin Solomon, and Joey Eiland. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, August 4. This service could not be reached. Please try again later.
