Obituary of Lester D. ‘Les’ Moss

Services for Lester Dean 'Les' Moss, 49, Troup, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, June 19, at Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Reverend John Davis officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mr. Moss died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his residence. Les was born May 9, 1961 in a USAF Hospital, Johnson Air Station, Saitama-Ken, Japan, to Sheldon Dean and Darlene Celestaleal Flower Moss. His first language was Japanese. He started school in Japan and came to the United States in 1969. He went to school in Sacramento, California and Seattle, Washington and attended college for two years. Les had lived all over the world. He worked as hotel manager, landscaper, loan officer, insurance agent, warehouse manager, and over the road driver.  He drove for Operation Iraqi Freedom and returned to Iraq to assist the 82nd Brigade Support Battalion.  He came home to Troup, January 30, 2010 and drove for Shale Tank. He attended the Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene in the Concord community, Cherokee County. Les and his wife Teresa traveled many exotic places. He was very talented in music, loved to sing and play the guitar and many other musical instruments. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Moss, Concord; children, Theresa Landeche, Tammy White and JoeShannon White; his mother, Dolly Moss; sisters, Tamara Shanhols, Deanna Robinson; brother, Curtis Moss; grandchildren, Cheyenne White, Heatherdawn White, Joey White, Justin Landeche, Amanda Landeche, Joseph Stockton, Jessica Stockton, and Jamie Stockton; Niece, Jamie Scalise; nephew, Daniel Werb; lifelong friend, Lance Hanawalt; aunt, Glenna DeBoy; uncle, Richard A. Moss; and many other loved ones and family. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, June 18.
