Obituary of Martha Jo Edwards

Services for Martha Jo Edwards, 71, Mountain View, Arkansas, formerly of East Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, May 15, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Artie Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards died Monday, May 10, 2010, in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born March 26, 1939, in Tyler to the late Frank and Frances Swafford Cline. A former resident of East Texas, Mrs. Edwards had been a resident of Mountain View for the past 5 years. She had worked as Administrator of the Terry Haven Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon and as a secretary for Crawford and Company Insurance, Tyler. She was a loving wife and mother. She married Donald Edwards May 28, 1958. Survivors include her husband of almost 52 years, Donald Edwards, Mountain View, Arkansas; sons, Philip Don Edwards, Carrollton, TX, Darrell Brent Edwards, Vancouver, Canada, and Anthony Frank Edwards, Mountain View; daughter, Vickie Lynn Edwards, Mountain View; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Sam Barber, Carrollton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and Linda Edwards, Kilgore; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family. Pallbearers will be John Layne, Alton Risinger, Joe Layne, Anthony Brown, Lonnie Layne and Glinn Brown. Jimmy Hooker will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, May 14.
