Obituary of Davy Warwick

Funeral Services for Davy Warwick, 80, Overton, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 13, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Bill Baker officiating. Private burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens, Henderson. Mr. Warwick died Monday, September 11, at his residence. He was born May 30, 1926, in Columbia, Missouri to the late James Oliver Warwick and Cora Elizabeth Beaty Warwick. He had been a resident of Overton for 36 years, moving from Irving. Mr. Warwick was renowned for his music. He wrote the song Angel Wings to Fly, which is in the Library of Congress. He was a designer and manufacturer of ceramic molds. Mr. Warwick was also a carpenter and an architectural designer of homes. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Overton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Frances Warwick, January 3, 2006. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Richard Kettles, Artie Kettles, Leo Kettles, Carl Warwick, Al Warwick, and J.O. Warwick; and five sisters, Ovella Johnsey, Oneda Warwick, Lillian Warwick, Nettie B. Warwick, and Willie Mae Kettles. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Marcia Warwick, Overton, and Scott and Jacque Warwick, Berrien Springs, Michigan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat and George Hill, Tyler, and Joan Warwick, Marvell, Arkansas; two stepsons and a step- daughter-in-law, Michael Howell and Jerry and Linda Howell, all of Overton; two sisters, Lila Elizabeth Ramer, Greens Ferry, Arkansas and Pauline Nosler, Brinkley, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
