Obituary of Julian Reid

Services for Julian L. Reid, 70, Arp, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, May 10 at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mr. Reid died Friday, May 7, 2010 in Tyler. He was born August 21, 1939, in the Swinneytown Community of Smith County to the late Horace Julian Reid and Mary Stella Herring Reid. He was a lifetime resident of the Arp area. Mr. Reid was a retired mechanic and had worked for Fun Motors, Tyler and East Texas Oil Service, New London. He was a Baptist. He married Joyce Driver in Smith County, September 2, 1969. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Joyce Driver Reid, Arp; two sisters, Gloria Hinson, Jacksonville and Rachel Raber, Teague; sisters-law, Patsy Stephenson, Overton and Ruby Williams, Arp; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
