Obituary of Jack Lovett
Services for Jack R. Lovett, 83, Houston, formerly of Orange, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 30 at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup with the Reverend Steve Lovett officiating. Burial will be in Henry's Chapel Cemetery, near Troup.
Mr. Lovett died Saturday, March 27, in Houston.
He was born May 3, 1926 in Blue Water, New Mexico and was a longtime resident of Orange where he owned and operated electrical and concrete contracting businesses.
He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II.
He married Arthena Cramer of Troup, September 25, 1948. She preceded him in death February 1, 2007.
In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Lovett and sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Reba and John L. Thompson and Mary June and Barron Florence.
Survivors include a son and his life partner, Steve Lovett and Brian Flores, Houston; daughter, Joy Henson, Houston; sisters, Ruth Harwell, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Evelyn Wootton, Farmington, NM; brother Wes Lovett, Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren, Brian Henson, Jeff Henson, Brent Lovett, Britany Lovett; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be John Alvin Thompson, Mickey Don Thompson, Rex Thompson, Ronnie Thompson, Larry Florence, Brian Henson, Jeff Henson, and Brent Lovett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, March 29.
