Obituary of Debra Dowdy
Services for Debra Chance Shipley Dowdy, 23, Whitehouse, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, May 6, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, near Whitehouse, with the Reverend Bennie Portwood officiating under the directionof Cottle Funeral Home, Troup
Chance died Monday, May 2, 2011, in a Tyler hospital. She was born August 21, 1987, in Tyler. Chance was a graduate of Whitehouse High School, where she participated in various school activities including being awarded All American Cheerleader by the National Cheerleader Association. She married Jeff Dowdy on January 29 , 2011.
Survivors include her husband , Jeff Dowdy, Whitehouse; her parents, Jim and Wen Shipley, Whitehouse; a son, Josh Dowdy and a daughter, Taylor Dowdy, both of Whitehouse; two brothers, Dustin Stewart, Chandler and Austin Shipley, Whitehouse; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tara Stewart, Whitehouse, and Vicki and Robert Gonzales, Kennedale; grandmothers, Bettye Robertson and Alice Dowdy, both of Whitehouse; parents-in-law, Nadine and Melvin Hall, Whitehouse; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Memorials if desired, may be made to the Humane Society of East Texas, 1823 County Road 386, Tyler, TX 75708-7615.
