Obituary of Travis Gover
Private services for Travis Gaylon Gover, 87, Whitehouse, will be scheduled at a later date. Travis died Wednesday, March 24, in a Tyler hospital.
Travis was born January 28, 1923 in Foard City, Texas to the late Mel and Lorena Clyde Gover. He grew up in Crowell, Texas and Hobbs New Mexico. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a pilot in the Naval Air Corp from September 1942 until July 1946. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas, El Paso, in physics and math.
He married Peggy Gedge in 1960 in Tigre, Venezuela. He had been employed by Dresser Industries in Venezuela for 13 years. Returning to the states, he was employed by the Western Company and Raytheon in Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Nevada.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Peggy Gover, Whitehouse, one son, Blake Gover, Logan, Utah; one daughter, Melanie Gover, Austin; and one grandaughter, Breanna.
