Obituary of Wanda Hogue Roberts

Funeral services for Wanda Hogue Roberts, 86, Overton, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Don McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens near Henderson. Mrs. Roberts died Friday, August 11, 2006 in Pasadena. She was born January 28, 1920 in Duncan, Oklahoma to the late Charles C. and Bertha Pearl Moore Hogue. She married Rex Roberts April 4, 1936 and lived in the Sexton City and Overton area for 53 years. She attended nursing school and worked at Henderson Memorial Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Hilburn and Dr. Springfield in Henderson and she was a member of the Overton Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Roberts on January 8, 1981. She was also preceded by a son, Arthur Kyle Roberts, her only sister, Roberta Hogue Sedgwick and brothers, Irby Hogue and G.T. Hogue. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Rex and Nancy Roberts, Deer Park, David and Patricia Roberts, San Antonio, and Mark and Kathy Roberts, Deer Park; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Roberts, Marshall; eleven grandchildren, Paul Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Chris Roberts, Kurt Roberts, Keith Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Adrian Roberts, Kristin Roberts, Kayla Roberts, Erik Roberts, and Alesa Roberts; 17 great-grandchildren, Shannon Roberts, Stephanie Roberts, Scotty Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Misty Roberts, Josh Roberts, Nicole Roberts, Erin Roberts, Brooke Roberts, Abby Roberts, Adrian Roberts, Anthony Donithan, Ryan Hickman, Blake Hickman, Hunter Roberts, Colin Roberts, and Ben Martin;a great-great grandson, Aiden Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, August 14.
