Obituary of M. C. Silvertooth
Services for M. C. Silvertooth, 82, New London, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 4, at the
London Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Hayman officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near New London, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Silvertooth was born February 3, 1928, in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Floyd Chester and Hazel Ruth Honeycutt Silvertooth. He went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his residence in New London. He married Billye Ruth Osburn November 13, 1945 in Kilgore and moved to New London in 1951. He retired from Fair Oil Company where he was a superintendent.He was a longtime member of the London Baptist Church and loved nothing better than having all of his family near him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed and loved forever.
Besides his parents, Mr. Silvertooth was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Billye Ruth Silvertooth on September 29, 2008.
Left to cherish his memory include; a son, Rickey Silvertooth, New London; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Bobby Garrett and Peggie and Durrell Stovall, all of New London; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Wanda Silvertooth, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, J. W. and Juanice Silvertooth, Kilgore, Bill and Joyce Silvertooth, Longview, and Ronald Ray and Carolann Silvertooth, Lufkin; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Ruth and Ed Moore, Hideaway Lake; grandchildren and their spouses, Shayne Silvertooth, Terrell, Shawna and Mark Burger, Dallas, Christy and Destry Holcomb, New Diana, Misty Wallace, Rusk, Brad Blanton, New London, Brent and Virgie Blanton, New London, Bryan and Amy Blanton, New London, and Jonathan Stovall, Longview; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Shayne Silvertooth, Brad Blanton, Brent Blanton, Bryan Blanton, Jonathan Stovall, and Destry Holcomb.
The family will receive friends at London Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 3.
