Obituary of Elva Sue Brown

Services for Elva Sue Brown, 74, Troup, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 25, in the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with Reverends B.C. McCoy and Eddie Secrest officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup. Mrs. Brown died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 18, 1935 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Juanita Pearcy Williamson. She married Eldon Ben Brown on April 3, 1953 in Pasadena. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was an avid computer user. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Eldon Brown, Troup; one son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Paula Brown, Troup; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rana Beth and David Rollins, Troup, Janet and Douglas Hine, Troup, and Susan and Mel Schlagel, Troup; one brother, Jim Williamson, Richmond; one sister, Martha Murphy, Anahuac; eight grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy and Ruth Sunday School Classes of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 24.
