Obituary of Daniel Watson

Services for Daniel Webster Watson, Jr., 72, Tyler are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 23, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Mickey Rorex officiaiting. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mr. Watson died Saturday, February 20, 2010, in a Tyler hospital. He was born August 12, 1937, in Keiser, Arkansas to the late Daniel Webster Watson, Sr. and Nora Potter Watson. He had been a resident of East Texas for most of his life. He retired from the maintenance department at Brookshire's in 1990. He enjoyed music, dancing and fishing. He married Bobbie Lou Branscum June 16, 1971. She preceded him in death November 29, 1994. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death two brothers, Octavis Watson and James Watson and a sister, Ada Wilson. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David Lynn and Peggy Watson, Linden; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Ann and Don Gandy, Tyler; a brother, Dan Watson, Oceola, Arkansas; two sisters, Katherine Adams, Illinois and Lucinda Williams, Arp; grandchildren; Courtney Pledger, Regina Liggins, Kimberly Gandy, Krystal Gandy, Daniel Jacob Watson, and Arial Watson; great-grandchildren, Devin Potts, Alexis Green and Justice Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bradley Smith, Aaron Watson, Jessie Liggins, James Hanson, Mike Boone, and James Sloan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, February 22.
