Obituary of Charles Branscom
Funeral services for Charles D. Branscom, 54, Overton, will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mr. Branscom died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in Smith County. He was born October 15, 1951 in Overton to the late Harold Branscom and Venita Matheny Branscom. He was a lifelong resident of Overton and married Shirley Potter in Overton in 1988. He was a heavy equipment operator in the oil field until his retirement and he was a Baptist.
Mr. Branscom was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Branscom.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Branscom, Overton; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Branscom, Lovington, New Mexico, Chris and Kim Branscom, Azel, Brian Branscom, Overton and Phillip and Tammy LeBrunm Overton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Chelsie Ammons, and Beverly LeBrun and John Green, all of Overton; his mother, Venita Branscom, Overton; two brothers, Harold Branscom, and Terry Branscom, both of Overton; six grandchildren, Katelin Branscom, Kaylyn Branscom, Clay Allen Branscom, Cheyenne Branscom, Washanda Branscom, and Natalie LeBrun; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jay Tatum, Walter Jackson, Jerry Howell, Allen Miles, Christopher Potter, and John Posey.
Visitation will be Friday, July 7, at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
