Obituary of Josephine Pettis

Funeral services for Josephine Pettis, 88, Arp, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Mrs. Pettis died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in a Tyler nursing home. She was born August 26, 1921 in Smith County to the late Butler and Rossie Line Garrett Mason. She was a lifelong resident of Arp and married James F. Pettis March 5, 1942. He preceded her in death November 17, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include three cousins, Joyce Viertel of Tyler, JoAnn Carroll of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Bonnie Jean Renwick of New Waverly; a nephew and wife, Rick and Mary Jane Rogers of Simsboro, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Friday, December 18, at the funeral home.
