Obituary of Alton Perry
Funeral services for Alton Reynolds Perry, 88, Arp, will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery, Arp.
Mr. Perry died Friday, June 9, 2006 in a Tyler hospital. He was born April 20, 1918 in Smith County to the late Oscar Reynolds and Mary Ann Hill Perry. He was a life long resident of the East Texas area and married Lottie Marie Garrett May 1, 1943 in Arp. He retired from the Smith County Road and Bridge Department where he worked as a machine operator and he was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Perry and Catheryn Perry, a brother, Verner Perry, and two sisters, Lucy Perry Arnold and Bertha Perry Dickerson.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lottie Perry of Arp; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel Perry of Dallas, Don Perry of Arp, and Kenneth and Leann Perry of Arp; a daughter and son-in-law, MelIndia and Dale Strickland of Overton; three grandchildren, Billy Don Perry and his wife Jessica, Charles Alton Perry, and Melissa Ann Perry; three great-grandchildren, David Perry, William Perry and Catlin Perry; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Perry, Billy Perry, Mike Wren, Rob Wren, Kevin Wren, and Ronnie Wren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the funeral home.
