Obituary of Bill Ray Stephenson

Services for Billy Ray Stephenson, Sr., 59, Overton, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mr. Stephenson died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 18, 1947 in Kilgore to the late Joe and Betty Attaway Stephenson. He was a lifetime resident of East Texas and was a welder. Mr. Stephenson was a Methodist. He married Patsy Driver in Longview, April 30, 1964. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Stephenson and a sister, Jo Ann Rozzell. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patsy Driver Stephenson, Overton; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy Ray Stephenson, Jr. and Danny and Amy Stephenson, all of Overton, and Joe Stephenson, New London; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Chris Roberts, New London; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Debbie Stephenson, Kemma and Barry and Ruth Stephenson, Chanelview; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Patsy Hooks, Kilgore, Wanda and Thomas Stewart, Carthage, Barbara Stephenson, Houston and Georgie Stephenson; seven grandchildren, Shane Stephenson, Cory Stephenson, Lizy Stephenson, Cindy Stephenson, Taylor Roberts, Matthew Stephenson, and Peyton Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stephenson, Barry Stephenson, Jeff Howard, Tim Fulgham, Randy Driver, and Bobby Evans. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, May 22. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701
