It had been 30 years since I had seen Val but over the years I have kept track of him and always loved him. My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Laughlin family. We can be thankful that his pain and suffering has ended. May God bless the Laughlin family.

If you had not touched my life, I would not have a job I love, friends I cherish or my college degree. I will always remember the man who was a friend, mentor, teacher, boss and sometimes counselor. Thanks for sharing your life with us.

Val, my friend and co-worker at TSTC, was everything a man should be. He was always there when I needed someone - he always had a kind word for everyone. We had many good times in the short five years I knew him. Even two weeks ago we laughed and shared stories even though he was in much pain. He will be sorely missed.

Whether you knew him as Val Joe, Mad Dog, Val, Chico, The Colonel, Professor Laughlin, V, or G-Daddy, you knew an incredible, multi-faceted man. His intelligence, musical talent, sense of humor, and loving nature cannot be replaced by another. If he shared his time with you, you will never forget how blessed you were. I know that I will not. There will never be another man quite like him in my life. Love you forever.

Val, You were the first person I met when enrolled at TSTC. Then I got the privilege to have you as a instructor. I thought you were the greastest instructor I ever had and I learned a lot from you. I'm glad you arent suffering anymore and I would have given anything to take your cancer away. I think about you everytime I go home because I have to pass right by your house. It wont be the same without seeing your car in the driveway. I'll never forget you as long as I live.

I'm so glad that your no longer suffering Mr. Laughlin. I will miss you terribly. You were the very first person I met on the TSTC campus and I had you for 3 classes my first semester. I always came to you when I had questions or even if I just wanted to chat. I feel as though a part of me has gone. I've posted your Obit on the TSTC-Marshall Myspace group and I'll be emailing it also to the few students I still talk to. Take care in the afterlife.
