Obituary of Mary June Florence

Services for Mary June Florence, 80, Henry's Chapel, near Troup, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, at the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverends Tolbert Dill and Jim Powell officiating. Burial will be in Henry's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Florence died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in a Tyler hospital. She was born December 10, 1925 in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Alvin S. and Cleo Smith Cramer. She moved to the Carlisle Community in 1930 from Louisiana and graduated Carlisle High School in 1944. She attended LeTourneau College and worked for Harmon Military Hospital as a bookkeeper. She moved to the Henry's Chapel Community in 1946. She was a homemaker and a very active member of Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church. She married Barron Arthur Florence in Carlisle, October 17, 1946. He preceded her in death January 8, 2006, after 59 years of marriage. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cherie Florence, Tyler; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Reba Thompson, Troup, and Arthena and Jack Lovett of Orange; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Matthew and Shelley Florence, League City; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lori Sadler and Dennis Sadler, Jr., Henry's Chapel; and, two great grandchildren, Ashlyn Florence and Dylan Florence. Pallbearers will be Matt Florence, Dennis Sadler, Jr., Andy Tarver, Drew Tarver, Ronnie Thompson, John Alvin Thompson, Mickey Thompson, and Rex Thompson. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 19.
