Obituary of James Jones

Funeral services for James W. Jones,72, Overton, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, Arp, with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mr. Jones died Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Overton. He was born October 16, 1933 in Nolanville to the late Reverend James G. and Myrtle Havens Jones. He married Marilyn Grigg, October 5, 1951 in Salinas, California and moved to the East Texas area in 1986 from Los Angeles, California. He worked as a independent roofer and was a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church where he had been active with the Mens Bible Study. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patsye Sue Belyeu, and a son-in-law, Joel Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Jones, Overton; two sons-and daughters-in-law, James and Vicki Jones of Garland, and Gregory K. and Beth Jones of Bullard; a daughter, LaJuana Taylor of Overton; a sister, Judy P. Sneed, Taft, California; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brian A. Jones and wife Angela, Sandi Jones, Gregory Jones, Jared Belyeu and wife Scottie; five great grandchildren, Lillian Jones, Colby Jones, Jade Belyeu, Zachary Belyeu, and Jeremy Belyeu; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greg Jones, Gregory Jones, Brian Jones, Jered Belyeu, Wayne Belyeu, and John Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Jones, Ellsworth Amos, Vince Ditta, and Carl Sieber. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at the funeral home.
