Obituary of Dorothy Marie Hill Wilson

Services for Dorothy Marie Hill Wilson, 76, Kerrville, formerly of Arp, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, July 31, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Dorothy Marie (Hill) Wilson, 76, passed away July 27, 2009 at home in Kerrville, TX with her husband and daughters by her side. Born June 19, 1933 to John Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Hill in Arp, TX, she was the second of three children. She was a graduate of Tyler Junior College. She moved to Midland, TX in 1953 where she met Luther Boyd Wilson. They were married on May 29, 1954. Dorothy worked as a secretary until the birth of their first child in 1961. Dorothy and Boyd were married 55 wonderful years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and grand mother. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge with friends, spending time with her family and traveling with her husband. Her friends always commented about her infectious laugh and smile. She brought joy and laughter to her home and all those she came in contact with. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Hill and her brother, Ray Lamar Hill. She will be missed by her husband, Luther Boyd Wilson of Kerrville, TX; daughters and son-in-laws Memrie Nanette and Mark Berry Kelly of Tomball, TX and Tami Marie and Walker Hooker Hunt III of Cypress, TX; a brother, Billy John Hill of Arp; five grandchildren Travis Berry and Jacob Boyd Kelly, Brittany Elizabeth, Walker Hooker IV, and Victoria Marie Hunt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Mark Kelly, Trace Hunt, Gary Hill, Jason Hill, Walker Hunt and Travis Kelly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hill and Jacob Kelly. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the funeral home. We would like to give thanks to Peterson Hospice for the exceptional care and love they showed our mother and family.
