Obituary of Jerry Dale Lummus

Services for Jerry Dale Lummus, Sr., 50, Arp, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 25, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverends Linda Owens and Doyle Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery, Rusk County. Mr. Lummus died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Jacksonville. He was born September 11, 1955, in Henderson to Charles 'Boots' Lummus and Joyce Owens Lummus. He was a graduate of Chapel Hill HIgh School and was a lifetime resident of East Texas. Mr. Lummus owned and operated Lummus Septic Tank. He was a member of the Servant's Heart Church, Tyler. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles ' Boots' Lummus and by his grandparents, Denner and Myrtle Owens and Clyde and Ozell Lummus. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lummus Jr. and Dawn Lummus and Steven and Helaine Lummus, all of Tyler; a daughter, Helen Martinez, Mesa, Arizona; a daughter and her fiancé, Amanda Flournoy and Brad Latner, Jacksonville; his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Kenneth Duncan, Arp; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Kay Lummus and Bruce and Rhonda Lummus, all of Arp; a step brother and sister-in-law, Kirk and Cheryl Duncan, Atoka, Oklahoma; and two step sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Craig Chandler, Kemp and Nancy and Nolan Baker, Seven Points; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Allen Rush, Allen Green, David Yancy, Brad Latner, Joshua Barbara, and Dean Cagle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Reverend Alvin Owens and the members of the Servant's Heart Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Monday, April 24.
