Obituary of Jerry Howard

Graveside services for Jerry Lee Howard, 65, Selman City are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday April 18, in the Union Grove Cemetery, near Troup, with Reverend Jim Norman and James Parker officiating under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mr. Howard died Sunday, April 16, 2006 in Henderson. He was born December 7, 1940 in Tyler to the late J.M. and Dorothy Gilliam Howard. He is a veteran of the US Navy and married Betty Church February 27, 1969 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He worked for 48 years as a truck driver and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #118. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Howard and a sister, Patsy Howard. He is survived by his wife, Betty Howard, Selman City; two sons, Johnny Lee Hill and wife Linda, Whitehouse, and Jimmy Howard and his wife Dorothy of Tyler; four daughters, Terri Skinner of Troup, Sharon Ray of Corpus Christi, Karen Foshee of Jacksonville, and Jerri Marie Howard of Tyler; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew. Pallbearers will be App Torti, Bigg Torti, Rodney Murphy, Glen Carpenter, Rick O'steen, and Chris Lynn. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Hall, Justin Hill, Jared Howard, Kyle Byrd, James Jackson, and Mark Jackson, Jr; and many friends and loved ones. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
