Obituary of Joyce Sparks
Funeral services for Joyce Ann Sparks, 70, Flint will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with Reverend Samuel Priddy officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park, Tyler.
Mrs. Sparks died Monday, June 9, 2009 in a Tyler hospital. She was born September 23, 1938 in Overton to the late Chester and Allie Mae Jones Green. She moved to Tyler 23 years ago from Shreveport, Louisiana and worked as a waitress and a cashier. She was the best Mom and Granny in the world.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jeter and Helen Jones.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy and Beth Sparks, Euless, and Robert Scott Sparks, Flint; two step-daughters, Kay Sands and Donna Dayres both of Bossier City, Louisiana; a brother, Chester Green, Flint; six grandchildren, David Sparks, Tommy Sparks, Robert Snider, Shellee Rodriquez, Ashley Foster, Krystal Harvey and Stephen Harvey; eight great grandchildren, Adrianna Rodriquez, Raul Rodriquez, Jr., Justice Snider, Kaylee Snider, Brook Snider, and Marissa Sparks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Harvey, Tommy Sparks, Jr, Stephen Harvey, Aaron Harvey, Robert Snider and David Sparks.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m Friday, June 12 at the funeral home.
