Obituary of Ralph Holland

Services for Ralph Holland, Sr., 84, Overton, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 12, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend M.H. Klink officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery. Mr. Holland, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully in his sleep, Monday, April 10, 2006. He was born November 10, 1921, in Webb City, Missouri to the late Jack and Dora Holland. He moved to Texas in the early fifties. He was a retired salesman and was a member of the London Baptist Church. Mr. Holland was a member of the National Guard, serving his country in Germany and France during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rovena Holland and a son, Ronald Ralph Holland. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Roger Hamilton, Troup and Jacquetta and Bobby Young, Sugar Land; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Holland, Jr. and Chris Holland, Overton; a brother, Jack D. Holland, Hutchinson, Kansas; a sister, Pearl Stark, Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Mandy Holland and Nathan Holland, Overton, Marc Hamilton and Britney Hamilton, Troup, DeeDee Randall, Rosenberg, and James Young, Houston; three great-grandchildren, Sara, Meredith, and Veronica. Pallbearers will be Tom Osteen, Paul Hamilton, Todd Martin, Steve White, Donnie Jones, and Scott Florey. Tony Eastwood will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 11.
