Obituary of Gladys Riley
Services for Gladys Riley, 85, New London, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 12, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Henderson.
Mrs. Riley died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in an Overton nursing home. She was born January 29, 1926, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Sanders and Grace Benoit Ogea. She had been a resident of New London since 1945.
Mrs. Riley married S.M. Riley, Jr., November 9, 1945. He preceded her in death, September 13, 2003. They had owned and operated Riley's Foods in New London from 1946 until 2002.
She was a member of the London Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carl 'Archie' and Gloria Riley, New London; Huey Ogea and Alvin Ogea, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister, Doris Duhon, Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Curtis and Kim Riley, New London, Rodney and Angie Riley, Henderson and Ryan and Ginger Riley, Kilgore; six great-grandchildren, Shelby Riley, Tanner Riley, Katelyn Riley, Collin Riley, Mason Riley and Maddi Grace Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Hamilton, Larry Clinkscales, Dale McNeel, John Hendon, Mike Stewart, and Tom Hall.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, April 11.
